Reviews and Ratings Policy

This policy is an annex to the Conditions of Use and forms part of them. It covers reviews, ratings, comments and testimonials published on Reef Network.

1. Who may post

Anyone with a Reef Network account may post a review. One review per person per subject. You may edit or delete your own review at any time.

2. What we do not do

We do not write, commission, buy or sell reviews. We do not publish reviews by people who do not exist. We do not present a review as independent when it is not.

We do not offer any benefit in exchange for a review that expresses a particular opinion. If we ever offer an incentive for leaving a review, it will be offered regardless of what the review says, and it will be disclosed.

3. Reviews by people connected to us

If a review is written by an owner, employee, family member or agent of Reef Network, or of the business or product being reviewed, that connection is disclosed on the review itself, in a form you cannot miss and do not have to click to see.

Employees are not asked, encouraged or required to post reviews.

4. Testimonials on our pages

Any testimonial we display comes from a real, identifiable user who agreed to it. We do not invent quotes and we do not attribute quotes to people who did not say them. Where a testimonial describes an unusual result, we say that it is unusual.

5. We do not suppress negative reviews

A review is not removed because it is critical, inconvenient or low scoring. We remove a review only where it breaches the Community Guidelines, for example because it is spam, is about the wrong subject, contains private information, or is abusive. Where we remove a review, we tell the author why and they may appeal under section 6 of those guidelines.

We do not threaten legal action to make a reviewer withdraw a review.

6. How reviews are displayed

Reviews are shown newest first. Where other sort orders are offered, they are labelled. The published average score includes every review we display. We do not filter the average to make it look better than it is.

Where a review relates to a purchase we can verify, it is marked as verified. Unverified reviews are not hidden.

7. Responding to reviews

The subject of a review may reply once, publicly, in the same place. A reply must not include personal information about the reviewer, false accusations, or threats.

8. Reporting a review

If you believe a review is fake, paid for, or breaches our guidelines, report it with the link next to the review or write to abuse@reefnetwork.com. Tell us why. We review reports individually.

9. Conflicts with our own commercial interests

Where a review concerns a product we earn commission on, that fact is disclosed on the page, see the Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure. A commercial relationship never affects whether a review is published or where it appears.
